Megabite Apple:
Hi Jo, thank you for taking the time to chat to us today so can you tell us who has been the team’s toughest opponent?
Jo Carter:
Myself. I think in any sport, the toughest person you ever have to overcome is yourself. If you can do that ‚ the road to success is open to you
Megabite Apple:
Figure Skating is a demanding sport, can you please tell me about your worst ever injury.
Jo Carter:
I had patella tendonitis in my knee. It was a chronic overuse injury and plagued me for a total of 5yrs, disrupting training and eventually requiring surgery which inevitably had a very long rehabilitation time before I was pain-free again.
Megabite Apple:
Wow! That must have been tough. What do you think has been your biggest achievement in sport?
Jo Carter:
Competing in 2 Olympic Games. Particularly coming back from injury to qualify for my second Games ‚ that was very satisfying.
Megabite Apple:
Have you ever had a losing streak?
Jo Carter:
There have been times when I have seemed to have a streak of performances that were below my best… but you push on and hope that there is a light at the end of the tunnel… and there usually is
Megabite Apple:
And how do you overcome these bad times?
Jo Carter:
Stay positive within yourself and rely on the fact that you have done the necessary training, and you have done the work to pull yourself through. Sometimes you have to experience the lows to really appreciate the highs
Megabite Apple:
What are your favourite fruits?
Jo Carter:
Mango & Strawberries
Megabite Apple:

Megabite Apple:
If you hadn’t turned out to be such a legend athlete, what do you think you would have chosen to do as a career?
Jo Carter:
I also copulated a physiotherapy degree, so I’m lucky enough to have another career path to fall back on as well as my sport ‚ so I think it would have been to get into sports physio and travel with a team
Megabite Apple:
How cool! I can imagine you train pretty hard mate, but what do you like to do in your spare time?
Jo Carter:
Relax! Meet friends for coffee… go to the movies… anything really!
Megabite Apple:
Who is your hero?
Jo Carter:
My Dad. He had a hart transplant when I was 14yrs old and he was the most determined, strongest and amazing person I have ever known. He was a huge part of my career
Megabite Apple:

Megabite Apple:
