Hi Ben, it’s awesome to meet you, you’ve been playing basketball for a while now, so who would you say has been the toughest opponent?
Ben Arkell:
Andrew Gaze

Oscar Orange:
He has been such a legend player for so long – and very tall! What about your worst every injury?
Ben Arkell:
Rolled ankle.

Oscar Orange:
Ouch, that must have hurt. What do you think has been your biggest achievement in sport?
Ben Arkell:
Playing in the National Basketball League

Oscar Orange:
That’s definitely pretty cool! Have you ever had a losing streak?
Ben Arkell:
Yes, eleven games in the ABA and 7 in the NBL

Oscar Orange:
Wow, but you’re doing so well now, so how do you overcome these hard times?
Ben Arkell:
Hardwork, determination and a good positive attitude

Oscar Orange:
That’s great advice. So what are your favourite fruits?
Ben Arkell:
Oranges and Apples

Oscar Orange:
I’m so pleased oranges are your favourite – they are mine too! So what are your favourite vegetables?
Ben Arkell:
Spinach, Pumpkin and Potatos

Oscar Orange:
What is your favourite food in general?
Ben Arkell:
Anything cooked at home

Oscar Orange:
It sounds like healthy food is really important to you. Can you please tell me, if you hadn’t turned out to be such a legend athlete, what do you think you would have chosen to do as a career?
Ben Arkell:
Probably a tradesman, landscaper or carpenter

Oscar Orange:
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Ben Arkell:
Relax, see friends and family and also my girlfriend

Oscar Orange:
Sounds like you have fun. Who is your hero?
Ben Arkell:
Larry Bird and my parents

Larry Bird was such a cool basketball player. Do you have any nicknames?
Ben Arkell:
Benny, Benny A and BJ

Oscar Orange:
They are pretty funny nicknames. What do you think is the best thing about playing sport?
Ben Arkell:
Meeting good people and staying fit

What is your favourite motto?
Ben Arkell:
Proper preparation and planning prevents poor performance.

Oscar Orange:
