As part of Brisbane Produce Market’s commitment to healthy eating amongst school children, they offer two school based healthy eating presentations, the ‘Apples aint Apples’ and ‘Crunch Time’ presentations. They have been designed for students in years 2-4 and 5-7 respectively. A representative from the Brisbane Markets will come to your school to conduct the presentation, which aims to educate students on the benefits of healthy eating, parts of the plant, the process of getting produce from the ‘farm to plate’, a look at some different varieties of fruit & vegetables, and an apple taste testing session. While roughly based on the same format, the ‘Crunch Time’ presentation takes a more in depth look at the many health benefits of fruit and vegetables, as well as the specific role of the Brisbane Produce Market in getting the fruit and vegetables from the farm to their plate. The ‘Apples aint Apples’ presentation may also include an appearance by one of their F&V Gang costume characters (depending on availability of characters). ‘Apples ain't Apples’ and ‘Crunch Time’ school presentations are extremely popular and are limited to schools within a one hour drive of the Brisbane Produce Market.
