Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Month

Get the Kids excited about Fresh fruit and vegetables with the Fresh for Kids ™ Market Adventure!

The kids will have a great time learning about different Fruits & Vegetables and what better time to run a tour then the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Month!

The 2-hour market adventure is specially tailored for kids and will include a tour of the Sydney fresh fruit and vegetable wholesale market at Flemington and a hands-on food preparation workshop. See how the fruit is bought and sold, check out what’s in season, pick up some produce then make something delicious.

This adventure is suited to children aged 8 to 12 years old. Registration includes a fantastic ‘Fresh for Kids’ ™ pack and entry into the markets. The cost is $25 per child accompanied by an adult.

Meeting at the Sydney Markets Control Centre at 8.00am sharp the tour will begin with an overview of the markets, taking in the scale and size of the market operation. Then the tour will weave its way through the Produce Markets where participants will delight in seeing where the freshest fruit and veggies come from before making its way back to your local fruit shops.

Kids will discover the tastes, textures and colouring of the seasonal produce and meet some colourful market personalities whilst filling their shopping bags with samples to take home.

Tours are limited to 12 kids and will be taking place on:

Venue: Sydney Markets, Austin Avenue (off Centenary Drive) Flemington NSW

Time: 8.00am sharp – 10.00am

All kids will be leaving with their own Sydney Markets shopping bag, recipes and great giveaways including ‘F&V Gang’ merchandise such as rulers, stickers etc.
